Where Did June Go????

My Goodness...I went to sleep in May and woke up and June is almost gone! I will try to catch you up on our June, without being too long "winded". Is it winded when you are typing as well as talking...oh well, I have never been known for knowing when to shut up, just ask my husband.

We started June with VBS. A full week...from Sunday to Saturday. It was fun and Jessica really seemed to enjoy it. As I look back at our month, it doesn't really seem we have done that much. With Jess out of school, we tend to just do whatever she wants to do, and usually that is swim. The boys have been up several week-ends. Jordan has been able to come with Landon one Saturday and with Nathan the Saturday before Father's Day. We really had a good time. It is always great to see them and now we fully understand how our parents feel when we don't get to see them as much as we would like.

Kenny's Mom and Dad left Wed. for 3 weeks in Alaska. I know they will have a good time but will be ready to get home. We are trying to keep fish fed, mail picked up and flowers watered! On Thursday, we took off for Atanta. Kenny's niece from Arkansas is in town with her 2 sons and 2 month old daughter. We spent the night, after dinner and visiting and then got up Friday morning and headed to the Zoo. It was a nice day and all of the kids seemed to have a good time. Sadie (the 2 month old), slept the entire time. We left the Zoo around 1 and headed to Steak-and-Shake for lunch. After eating, Kenny, Jess and I headed for home. It was a fun trip and it was good to see Stephanie, her kids and Toni and Chris.

Sunday, Kenny had to speak in Albany so we dropped Jess off in Quitman to spend some time with Nana and Papa. They are leaving in the morning for the Phillipians. Don, Laurie and a cousin are leaving from Chattanooga and meeting them there.

Guess that really about wraps up our June...Kenny ask every morning what my plans for the day are and everyday it is the same answer...Laundry and the pool-guess it could be worse!!!! Have a great week!

PS-Please keep all the travelers from our family in your prayers, including Heather Cobb who will be leaving Thursday for the Ukranie. Also, Melissa Hicks-and her entire family, as we are all praying for her unborn baby every morning at 10:20.

VBS

We had our VBS at Central beginning last Sunday. It was Sun-Wed. It was really nice. The theme was "Passport to the Holy Land". Each night the kids went to a different "city". Jessica really did well. She seemed to enjoy it, even though it ended at 8 and she is usually beginning to settle down by then. I hate to say it but we are really "home bodies". Jess loves being at home and playing in her OWN space-that would be anywhere in the house that she is! And Kenny loves to come in after work and Piddle around the yard. That leaves me a home body whether I like it or not, and honestly, most of the time -- I love it! Thursday, Quitman started their VBS, so Jess and I took off after dinner for another night! She loves seeing her cousins, aunt and grandparents, but I think last night she had had her fill. After about 30 minutes I heard her, so we packed up and headed home. She caught a little "capnap" on the way home so was ready to visit with her Dad for a few minutes but before 9, she was fast asleep! I guess we will try it again tonight and see how we do.

We don't really have any big plans for the summer but Jess and I are loving being able to hit the pool everyday! Have a great week-end! I am going to try and post a few VBS pictures later.

Summer Time!

Wednesday, a friend from church had a funeral she needed to attend so Jess and I volunteered to keep her girls for awhile. They are the cutest things and sit right behind us at church so we are pretty familiar with each other. The oldest one is 3 and the youngest one is getting ready to turn 1. Let me go on record to say the we had a great time-BUT...3 is a whole lot different than 1. I really didn't realize how tired I was until they all left. We did have fun and I am glad that we were able to help. I know how it is when you need a sitter and can't find one! I am going to try and post some pictures of the girls playing and swimming. Jessica loved having someone around to play with--Sorry, NOT HAPPENING! She have to settle for friends!

Memorial Day 2008

With all the swimming, movie going, cook outs and family time that went on yesterday, I hope everyone took time to think about, thank and honor our service people who give willing of their lives to give us the opportunity to live in a free country. We, no doubt, live in the best country in the world and so many times take our freedoms for granted. Let's be sure that everyday, and especially on holidays, the we remember all the ones who and served and died for us!
