Time Marches On...

Isn't it funny, how as a child, we look forward to something and it seem like it takes FOREVER to get here. Now, as a "grown up", it seems like one year is gone before I can even start writing that date on a check! That is how it seem to me with school years. First off, I can't believe that in 13 days Jessica will be out of school for the summer. She loves school so much that my only salvation will be our pool. That may be the only things she enjoys more. As a teacher I was always counting the days down until MY vacation...as a Mom, I as counting down the days until Jessica is home 24/7! Not that I don't love her and I love watching her and swimming with her, but school days are sure nice for Mom to get things done!!!

And speaking of time flying, how about "my" Kindergarten kids having a 10 year reunion! I vividly remember those little ones coming into school-how cute they were! Now they are all grown up and I am very proud of the men and women they have become. As a teacher, you can only hope that you play a small part in molding the life of your students and alot of K-5 teachers never get to see their classes grown. I am lucky to live around so many of the children I have taught over the years and to see them grow into adults with good work ethics, happy lives and active members in their local congregations really makes me proud. I remember the first time Matt lead singing for the church at Central on Sunday AM and I have to tell you I sat there and cried! I love all you guys!!

Evrything you said was so true...in just 180 kids I think of all of them as MY kids....although I am counting down the days to summer, I will really miss all of these little 6th graders
